Have You Considered an Indycent Career?

The UBS Indycent has many departments. Cadets can request a department, or wait for the command staff to assign them to a department based on the talents we perceive. Or on what we think will be most entertaining.

Medical

The medical staff of the Indycent makes sure party guests achieve and maintain the state of intoxication optimized to ensure maximum party enjoyment. They do this by treating party guests to the most delightful (and occasionally devilish) concoctions in the universe. It requires great skill to create these delicacies (and occasional instruments of torture). Free pour (Crew) bar shifts require actually bar tending skills. Bar back duties require being sober and / or coordinated enough to refill alcohol and mixer containers in a crowded space. Public bar shifts require looking good and pouring from our pre-mix containers.

Skills Required

  • Bar tending Skills (for Crew bar shifts)
  • Operating a spigot while smiling (for public bar shifts)

Engineering

The right party space makes all the difference – and the Engineering staff is in charge of making sure the ship and the adjoining space stations are up to the party challenge. Between missions, engineering is in charge of making sure the ship is maintained to ensure optimal recreational performance.Engineering Crew perform most of their duties before and after the parties, making it a perfect department for those who don’t want to work during the parties.

Skills Required

  • Toting, carrying and moving stuff before and after the party
  • Emptying trash and getting ice as needed during the party
  • Maintaining the Battle Bar, skirmish bar and any other contraptions we decide to build

Intelligence

There are advantages to being part of the Crew. Those advantages diminish if we can’t tell the difference between Crew and guests. Intelligence is in charge of checking Crew into the party, signing up new members, Crew renewals and merchandise parties.

Skills Required

  • Stay sober enough during the party to read and fill out forms

Security

We’re a merry lot, and we keep it that way by keeping careful tabs on the party crowd. Security makes certain that nobody underage comes into the party, and that people in the party stay under control. They are also in charge of making sure the party atmosphere keeps the girls comfortable

Skills Required

  • Ability to check IDs at the main door, or look for Crew badges at the door of the Indycent Lounge
  • Ability to assist overly intoxicated people to their rooms
  • Be cool

Communications

Inquiring minds want to know what the Indycent is up to. Communications helps to answer those questions with websites and other communication vehicles.

  • Ability to write interesting and engaging mission content (e.g. mission reports, website content)

Recreation

The Indycent prides itself on throwing amazing parties. The recreation department makes sure that the party room – and the people in it – are decorated. Barines

Every ship experiences the ebb and flow of available personnel during events. The Barines cross-train in all other departments allowing them to step in and fill the breech when those departments are short-handed. In addition, a Barine is an enthusiastic participant at parties hurtling in with good humor and a ribald attitude. “First In, Last Out – No Bar Too Far!”

Skills Required

  • Ability to cross-train in all other departments and perform in those departments with distinction
  • A jovial and unsinkable attitude. When all others cry uncle, a Barine just grins and digs deeper
  • Ability to imbibe new and possibly dangerous concoctions to protect the Crew from hostile alien distillations

Barine Drop Transport Pilot

The Barines recognize that getting in and out of the drop zone is an essential part of victory. As such, a few honored specialists within the Barines assume the position of Drop Transport Pilots. They see that the Crew arrives safely and makes it back to their billet the same way.

  • Ability to pass on drinking, regardless of how delicious it may be
